Alaska — the last frontier. It is one of the best destinations you can bring your entire family. In our case, we were nine adults and eight kids. Travel to Alaska with kids is one of the trips you need to do!
We went in June, during the summer, when the sun sets at midnight (Alaska is also called the land of the midnight sun) and the weather was perfect.
Instead of theme parks, Alaska has nature and wildlife parks. Instead of roller coasters, you ride helicopters, river rafts, and dog sleds. Instead of zoos and science museums — although it has those too — you can see grizzlies, moose, mountain goats, caribou, Dall sheep, and eagles out in the wild (plus bears and moose even crossing the road!).
We spent eight days in Alaska, covering Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali, Whittier, Palmer, and Seward. We drove a car, took the rain, rode the bus, took a glacier cruise, drove an ATV and dog sleds, did whitewater rafting, hiked to a glacier, walked on a glacier, and flew in a flightseeing plane and a helicopter. It was, without a doubt, one of the best travel adventures we’ve ever experienced.
