We spent 5 days in Helsinki as part of our 2-week Finland itinerary with kids. This allowed us to explore Porvoo and Suomenlinna as well. And we did more than just take photos of landmarks. We watched a Christmas concert at the Rock Church, dipped in the freezing lake, went to the sauna at Loyly, read books at Oodi, meditated at the Chapel of Silence, bought souvenirs at the Christmas market at Senate Square, took a lot of tram rides, shopped at Stockmann, hang out at Esplanadi Park, and strolled along Aleksanterinkatu, among others. There’s actually more to do, so 7 days would have worked as well.
